HI Mike,
Yes he does have another computer that he uses that those accounts on and I
have looked in the past and all seemed right, but I'm going to look again
and hope I find something, because that is all I can think that might be
wrong. Otherwise, his accounts are set up like mine and mine does just what
it is supposed to do.

  I Kay,

On your phone you should be able to dig deeper in to the POP 3 account
settings,

I can’t remember exactly but it’s off one of the mail box addresses in
this case incoming (pop3) address that takes you in to more settings /
features for the account,

Have a look and see what you can find.

Sorry I no longer have a pop account to try this with.

As far as I am concerned, such setting does not exist from a mail client.
Things must be changed on the server side IE. Gmail.com if that is the email

I have seen settings in the past for pop3 where emails will be moved to the
mail client but keep the copy on the server side.

If you want emails to be deleted on the mail client and server side, imap

Re: an email or gmail question

2020-08-28 Thread Kay Malmquist
Here is the strange part of the whole thing. On my computer I have, save
messages on the server for one day. That way if I look on my iphone, after
I have checked my messages on the computer, they will still be there. But
after that day is up, they will disappear from my iPhone because they are
off the server. If I delete the messages from my computer they go off the
server right away and I don't get them on my iPhone. But even if they are
still on the server, my iphone will not retrieve them again. Yes, I do
have a pop account and not an imap. I just want to know where he might go
to find a setting that will not let his iPhone retrieve messages he has
already read. I hope this makes some sense.

pop three is the problem here. If your email service provider allows you,
you may want to consider to switch to IMAP configuration. This will allow
the server to sync with your mail app

As far as I am concerned, such setting does not exist from a mail client.
Things must be changed on the server side IE. Gmail.com if that is the email
provider.
I have seen settings in the past for pop3 where emails will be moved to the
mail client but keep the copy on the server side.
If you want emails to be deleted on the mail client and server side, imap
configuration is what you want. This can be changed on the server side via

there should be a setting in your email client that says something like delete

RE: an email or gmail question

2020-08-28 Thread Dennis Long
In the mail settings there is a option for how long to keep the email. I would
also look at a third party email client.

Hi all,

I have a strange one for you. I am trying to figure out why when my husband
goes through his emails on his phone and deletes them and even empties the
trash folder, when he goes back in to read more, these emails come back. Is
there anywhere on the phone that you can turn off to save a copy of messages on
server? It looks like that is what is happening. He is using pop 3. Or do
you have any other ideas? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

pop three is the problem here. If your email service provider allows you, you

hello,

The Gmail app is extremely accessible. I've been using it for several years and
love it.

Now if it was just as easy to use in my chrome book that would be great.

Again this really works great for iOS.

Voiceover works like a charm.

On my 6+ phone I set up my Gmail account just fine. When I got the iPhone 7
Verizon said I had to use the app. I do not like the app. Is there a way to
set my Gmail up like I had it before where I just go from mailbox to mailbox by
tapping the back button?

Re: Gmail Question

2017-11-02 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Carla,

Try double-tapping your name at the top of Settings, choosing Accounts,
choosing Add, and adding your Gmail account. You may get a note from Gmail
saying you'll need to relax your security settings to allow your phone to
access your mail in this way; if so, follow the instructions. I have a Gmail
account and can access it on my phone, so I think this will work.

Best,
Anna

Gmail Question

2017-11-02 Thread Carla
On my 6+ phone I set up my Gmail account just fine. When I got the iPhone 7
Verizon said I had to use the app. I do not like the app. Is there a way
to set my Gmail up like I had it before where I just go from mailbox to
mailbox by tapping the back button?

gmail question

2014-04-24 Thread Lori Dent
Hi all,

I have a question about my gmail app having my email announcing in
notifications.

I finally got my email working again in my gmail app. When I close out my
gmail app and the screen dims and locks, and then the next thing I know I'm
getting email notifications without me even handling or using the phone at the
time .The email notifications will start announcing the email and reading it
and I'm not in the gmail app .How do I turn thegmail notifications off so that
it doesn't alert and n notify me by reading the email. I only want to read the
email when I'm in the gmail app only.

Tonight the gmail notifications was alerting me of a email and reading the
email out loud while in a meeting and I need this to be turn off. So how do I
turn the gmail notifications off?

I have never went into gmail notifications and turned anything on. after I got
my email working in my gmail app tonight that's when it started to announce the
 gmail notifications out loud.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Take care.
