I was wondering, are POSIX compliant tar readers commonplace on VMS these days? Specifically if you pack a directory tree using Archive::Tar will the commonplace readers extract it properly? Winzip for instance is not POSIX aware and unpacks them into a single flat directory. Yves -- perl -Mre
