I am attempting to compile VNC on SuSE 10.1 using gcc 4.1.2. I am compiling
because I want GLX and input extension.
My uname -a is:
Linux mymach 2.6.16.54-0.2.5-smp #1 SMP Mon Jan 21 13:29:51 UTC 2008 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I used X11R6.9.0-src.tar.gz and vnc-4_1_3-unixsrc.tar.gz,
I have a remote Linix computer setup with free realvnc 4.1.2 server to be
started via -inetd. I start the free vncviewer 4.1.2 on my client system and
VNC comes up on the remote and all works great. I want to write a script to
drive all this and start some applications etc and what I need to
I recently installed the 4.1.2 server on Sun Solaris ,to be started via
inetd etc.
It *does* work, but startup speed is very slow compared to Linux and windows.
It opens a window with a basic gray background, after about 10 seconds the
background turns black, then it sits for over a minute. Then
I'd like to compile realvnc 4.1.2 for Linux on a AMD x86_64 machine.
XFree86-4.3 doesn't know this machine. 4.6 does, but realvnc doesn't.
Has anyone compiled realvnc for XFree86-4.6 yet? Any tips/source changes etc
you can share?
Thanks!
tom
