I am having trouble losing connection using the free 4.1.3 version between two
Win XP-Pro Computers.
Lately, every several minutes it seems a peer reset message is popping up.
(Connection reset by peer -- 10054)
Could it be a firewall, av, or router issue?
If someone could suggest some things
That was it!

into the WINXP box, using IE to access my yahoo email...
Thank you and everyone for your help,

Kate,
Has the XP box has Fast User Switching or Remote Desktop used on it before
you try to connect with VNC, or is it locked & the VNC Server running in
User-Mode?
192.168.1.10, 192.168.1.10:0 and 192.168.1.10:5900 all mean the same thing
to the VNC Viewer.

How do I VNC FC2 to WINXP?
WINXP_Pro box (192.168.1.10) has RealVNC for Windows
installed in service-mode, and I added "192.168.1.1"
as client, - but when I try 192.168.1.10:1 from
Master FC2 box, it fails to make a connection and
closes...
Master [192.168.1.1] FedoraCore2 box has VNC
configured
tried using linux to check the portmaper & RPC on my XP machine, it
reported that
rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Remote system error -
Connection refused
But I can use vnc loaded on 2 Win XP Pro machines, and it works in both
directions between the 2.
Just can't see

When I alter the registry to allow local loop connections and then open
a local connection in the viewer, it acts weird.
It continually displays the VNC window inside itself until it fills the
screen!
Something like viewing a mirror in a mirror, it goes on forever! No

I am having a problem running the VNC Server in Windows XP Pro. The
Viewer works fine but the Server doesn't work at all. The server piece
says its running but when I try to connect it gives me a FAILED TO
CONNECT TO SERVER. I also cannot see the open VNC port when I do a scan
like I usually ca
