I just can't figure out what is going wrong my VNC + GDM setup that is
not allowing clients to gain access. I've tried filing a bug with
bugzilla.redhat but the engineers there insist it's my configuration and

You're not starting your VNC server with GDM (which is a logon manager),
you're starting it with xinetd. You therefore need to look for where xinetd
is putting the logs for the desktop, or just configure the command-line used
by xinetd to launch Xvnc to pipe its output to a file.

The fact that the viewer is showing the desktop window but is then closing
suggests that you are able to connect to the server, but that the server is
then closing the connection again, so you may want to look at the server's
log (in your .vnc directory) to see why it is doing so.

the server but I use version 4.1.1 on my Windows 2000 machine running
remotely on my LAN... both them act the same way way connecting to the
