I call this the nutcase attic antenna.  I got one of thouse amplified flat
plate antennas.  I hung a director on it to pick up channels from the north.  I
consisted of a 1/4 wavelength rod next the antenna and directors spaced 1/8 of
a wavelength away.  It worked.  Then I wanted to get channels from the south.
I hung another director on the other side of the antenna.  This also worked.
It added at least 3 db to the channels from both directions.  This pulled
signals out the dust and that are now 20 db in strength.  It looks like two
antennas pointing in opposite directions.  The director rods electrically
couple to large amplified one wavelength loop antenna.
Now I want to get channels from the east and the west.  I have employed loops
along the edges of the antenna.  This couples the magnetic component of the
loop antenna.  This seems to work also.  Now I have a 4 quardrent nutcase
antenna.
