There are robot washers on those mirrors. We have been over this. The
people at Ivanpah specifically said they have robot washers.
You may not like this technology, but please stop making false assertions
about it to

400 MW Natural Gas plant would cost $400M VS. $2.2b with much less

On the other hand, over the life of a natural gas plant you have to pay for
a lot of gas, whereas sunlight is free.
$2.2 billion
Jed,
Those mirrors do not have that electrostatic cleaning device installed on
every mirror. That Youtube you showed was an animation. You stick to the
facts

Steam Boilers, Steam Turbines and flat mirrors are a matured technology,
have been in use for 100 years

Solar panels and mirrors need to be cleaned almost daily if efficiencies
are to stay where they need to be. Dust is not transparent, so even just
one gram of dust per square meter of solar panel area can reduce efficiency
by around 40

That is not what the researchers at Google and others associated with this
installation say. I recall they said mirrors need to be washed every
Jed, it really depends upon what the weather is doing. That is a brand new
solar trough plant at the link I sent you that shows the mirror washing
truck with a robotic arm. You can have one high wind/dust storm in the
desert that screws up all of your mirrors suddenly and you lose 40% flux.

No robo-washers on those mirrors. Let's say $100 per auto robo cleaner x
374,000 = $37,400,000 upgrade. You can hire a lot of sharecropper squeegie
guys for that price.
PV don't need no operators, no control room, no 40 story tower, no steam
turbine, no steam boiler, no package boiler for
