Two worlds are tidally locked when a smaller (less massive) world orbits another larger (more massive) world so the smaller world always shows the same face to the larger world. The Earth-Moon is such a system. Interestingly from the viewpoint of the smaller world the larger world is always in the sky and appears to be motionless.
Suppose intelligent life evolved somewhere in the universe on the smaller world of such a tidally locked system. What impact would a stationary body in the sky have on the development of such a culture? Has any SF writer written about this? Harry
