Re: [Vo]:ADGEX Flashlight Creators Announce USB PowerBank
Hi Vort-list: It seems that the Adgex Energy TACHYON product might not be as expensive as I expected it to be (what with Steorn charging 1200€ for a USB-self-charger that-never-runs-out, I was expecting TACHYON to be 500-1000-5000$ or more). Fingers crossed that the TACHYON will come out soon. Craig & list The thing that caught my interest about ADGEX's Powerbank is that if you = order an ADGEX ELFE for $99, you get 20% off the full price of their usb = powerbank. ...That, and the mere possibility of maybe,, just maybe, being able to = finally charge my MacBookPro from (supposed) free energy. Tachyon? It even sounds cool! ;) --- http://lackluster.bandcamp.com | http://lackluster.org | http://esaruoho.tumblr.com | iPhone: +358403703659

>From Robin > To me it looks they have just put a supercap in a box, with some electronics. Yes, I would agree with you. In the demo you can see him plug the larger box (the box that is still a prototype) into a wall outlet. 30 seconds later the box appears to be fully charged whereas before it was completely discharged. It's not so revolutionary as compared to a really nice incremental step of consumer convenience. That's not to be knocked. If the same kind of technology could be internalized within the a typical cell phone... charging it in 30 seconds... some might call that revolutionary. If true, I think the technology would sell like hot cakes. ;-) Regards, Steven Vincent Johnson OrionWorks.com zazzle.com/orionworks

Must keep an eye on these folks. I gather it's been speculated these devices are powered by Earth's Magnetic field. I'm not sure how that would work. If this line of speculation turns out to be accurate I'd guess one cannot stack too many of them together in order to boost wattage. Density issues. Makes me wonder what the maximum wattage that could theoretically be harvested within, say, each square foot, or meter. Of course, what comes to my speculative mind is the feasibility of erecting "power" buildings crammed with stacks and stacks of these devices all hooked up together. Kind of like a sub-station. But in this case, more of a mini power house. I'm guessing this would be totally impractical cost-wise due to low density output combined with the high cost of the individual devices. Perhaps it simply would not work. It's a nice thought though. Comments?
