[Vo]:Gmail continuing to mark some Vortex messages as spam
Just a heads up that Gmail continues to move some Vortex messages to the spam folder. If you use Gmail, an easy way to find them is to go to the spam folder and search for Vortex. Nearly everything in the results will be legitimate Vortex mail. I suspect the filter they're using to send messages to the spam folder is the degree to which pseudoscience is promoted. If you wish to avoid the hassle of people looking for your message in the spam folder, you should discuss only orthodox science. Eric

I am unable to subscribe using gmail. I send the subscription address and gmail I think keeps telling me that I have to have real address. And anyway, WYSIWYG did not work for me. I got the same font no matter which one I selected. Roger

[Vo]:Gmail still dumping [Vo] stuff into spam filter
Gmail users beware. Vortex mail still seems to be dumping stuff into the spam folder. - Jed

[Vo]:Gmail option fixes problem
Apparently lots of people elsewhere on the Internet are experiencing problems with Gmail spam filter false positives. In a discussion group, someone recommended the following option for Gmail filters: Never send it to Spam I did not know they had that. My Filter entry now says: Matches: to:(vortex-l@eskimo.com) Do this: Skip Inbox, Mark as read, Apply label Vortex, Never send it to Spam - Jed

Perhaps because a favorite tactic of spammers is to send a message to X with X spoofed as sender. The Internet was designed without any concern for security. That was reasonable in 1969 but they should have redesigned it from the ground up in the 1990s. Patching with security fixes and firewalls doesn't cut it. - Jed

Hey, I ticked 'not spam' on all of the one previously, and now I just checked and none show in the spam filter. So Jed, did you take this step? A guess is that the mailing software is doing something wrong. Why not make a Google Group out of it instead?
