Nope, well not AFAIK anyway unless ms have changed something in .NET2.
ASPX pages are actually compiled on the fly when you first browse to the page. Makes for faster rendering I guess?

The pages are, the code-behind is actually compiled
beforehand and stored in a .dll

This article is about a survey of programming languages. Despite it's
repeated use of terms like managed code and enterprise and claim that C#
is the big winner, the survey shows that interpreted languages like Python,
Ruby, etc. plus scripting languages (into which they lump Perl, PHP and
Javascript???) show a lot of growth also. C++ has a slight loss, Java has a
bit of growth.

No offense, but this is a wretched article ;-) The Programming Language
Momentum graph is absolutely horrid. They're comparing HTML to C++?!?
They're counting Perl *twice* under both the Scripting and Dynamic
Languages?!? Deployment Platform Momentum lists Windows.NET, Win32 and
OS X, but not POSIX???

An increase of 23% in C# usage can just as easily mean that this year,
five people used C# instead of four. *beats head against wall*

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics, but the absolute scum at the
bottom is meaningless corporate IT business-speak :-)
