It would appear they both do something very similar.

i´ve setup an vserver 1.39 with an copy of the running debian sid. The
vserver starts, but there are htree problenms :
1. when i enter the vserver (vserver vserver3 enter) i get about the
following multiple error message (about 30 ) :
