i'm only debian user, but i know about rpmstrap:

 http://packages.debian.org/rpmstrap

 Package: rpmstrap (0.5.2-2)
 bootstrap a basic RPM-based system

rpmstrap is a tool for bootstrapping a basic RPM-based system. It is
inspired by debootstrap, and allows you to build chroots and basic
 systems from RPM sources.

At present rpmstrap can build basic Fedora Core 2, Fedora Core 3, Fedora
Core 4, Yellowdog 4, CentOS 3, CentOS 4, Mandriva and Scientific Linux
systems. It also has support for custom RPM-based systems managed by PDK.

You have to check current shared memory and semaphores usage and limits.

[Vserver] Quota on shared partiton using derjohn kernel 2.6

2006-11-16 Thread mail
Hi all,

I searched, in your new wiki for support quota on a shared partition. I
found the following link
http://oldwiki.linux-vserver.org/Per+Context+Quota.

But this is for Kernel 2.4 and i want this to use this with kernel 2.6.
Does this actually work? I doesn't get behind the wiki pages containing
quota.

best regards

Oliver Werner

does ntpd start on this kernel in xid=0, that is, _not_ in virtual
 context?

yes the ntp is running in the main context

I'm not sure, but If it doesn't, see capabilities module or like that --
realtime etc, depends on the kernel configuration.

hmm - so I think I have to mod the sources as I cant find appropriate
kernel config params...
