The desktop computer (G4 eMac) stays on all the time, so speed of start-up is not an issue. However the laptop (G4 iBook) is a different issue, that can go for up to 48 hours without being used, so it is more appropriate to shut down and start-up, rather than sleep. Daniel F. On 02/01/2004
