I had a brief problem logging into my ISP. Deleting all the relevant old
cookies did the trick.

Does the time also revert to 1907, or 1940 or something like that? If so,
then I wouldn't be surprised if it's the little internal battery. If it
hasn't been replace for a while (3-5 years) then that can do strange things
to do with startup as well.

No, interestingly, that does not always happen. From the fact that it
will go happily for weeks at a time I do not really suspect the

Short answer - NO!
Getting the smaller CD's out of slot loading machines generally
involves a trip to the service department at your local retailer.
Tray loading drives should be fine.

was an incorrect system message. I rebooted and let the restoration
sequence come into effect. When it was all recovered it was in Polish
and I went to languages and reset it to English. all is good now but
