Hi MUGGER¹s
My Epson 740 finally bit the dust and I have 7 cartridges in varying states
of age to give away...all to a good home!
All cartridges are still sealed. Here are the details:
4 black cartridges, compatibles, probably about 3-4 years old, unsure how
good they might still be, replaces

Hi List,
Upon reading a book as suggested by Ronni, it indicated that it was
a very good idea to unclutter ones present system.
It also gave some alternate programs that could achieve this;

It was before I upgraded to 10.6.
If I opened Time Machine, where would I look?
Or do I need to repurchase it?

We have been with iinet since Murdoch Uni's 'Cleo' (about 12-13
years). We have found them to be very good on phone calls but
lately very slow on email enquiries. Two recent email enquiries, one
from Bali about a password for webmail and another an enquiry about
their 'Bob' promotion

I have been with Netspace for the last seven years and have been very
satisfied. I think their rates are probably competitive although
being happy with their service I have not done a good comparison
recently.

dragged onto desktop and let it reinstall, no change,
purchased new copy from apple and all fixed.
thank you again Bob for your assistance

I was hoping that some of the more high-profile members would comment
on Bob Howells rebuke to Rob Phillips, but it appears that this is
unlikely to happen. The 'don't-make-waves' principle seems to have won
out. Who knows, in the end, maybe that's the best was to move forward.
Hi Brian,
In Snow Leopard, System Preferences no longer has a QuickTime
preference pane, even if you install QuickTime Player 7.
One reason this might be of particular concern is that in Leopard,
this pane is where you would enter your registration code for
QuickTime Pro if you purchased
Hi Vlad, I felt that Rob's own reply was considered and thoughtful -
and that perhaps no further comment was needed.

Hi,
I have hesitated to comment on the issue, but since I started it all
by posting the initial question, I will add my two cents worth.
I have been on the list for the last 7 years or so since coming to WA.
A friend here in Bunbury made me aware of WAMUG and as a long time Mac

Hello, WAMuggers,
A month or two back I upgraded Safari 4 and QuickTime to the most
recent versions. Ever since, when I use Disk Utility to repair
permissions, dozens of entries needing repair come up. They don't
stay repaired, and reappear after every restart.

Hi Pat, its possible that upgrading to Leopard will fix the problem.
See the article on this page, with links to discussions on repairing
permissions problems that other people were having. Doesn't sound
quite the same as your problem though. regards, Susan.

Hi Susan,
Interesting article.
If I was Pat, I would download and run the OSX Update Combo 10.5.8
Twice (as recommended on the link you supplied).
http://www.networkworld.com/news/2009/082809-fixing-permissions-in-leopard-and.html
After installing the Combo twice, then repair permissions.
Morning.
Installing ProApps i.e. FCP studio will do same if you own??
Cheers!

Hi Pat,
Ever since, when I use Disk Utility to repair permissions, dozens of entries
needing repair come up.
If the permissions appear as should be ..., they are lrwxrwxrwx,
these permissions do NOT need to be repaired despite what Disk Utility
tells you. The critical thing to note is that
