I'm assuming you are trying to connect to a network. What about using wireless and turning on Airport? I did this with a 20 iMac PowerPC G5 when I felt the ethernet port was dicky (lots of network dropouts). The Firewire was also dicky (would stop data flow after a certain period), or so I felt,

Hi Reg. When I got the new mouse there was no prompt to set it up. I just went to blueTooth set up and did it that way. But honestly, no prompt was visible. Hence in Mouse Prefs there is no extended Mouse options, also under Bluetooth, all the areas are greyed out. So no battery info etc?
