Just to clarify, this is one of the models before the 13 aluminum MacBook became a MacBook pro. It's also the one that came out without a FireWire port, much to the dismay of the Mac community. Best to check the website regarding specs if you are thinking about it. Sent from my iPad On

After email discussions with MacSpeech Dictate support and then Plantronics support when it became clear that the headset USB connector was at fault, Plantronics in the US agreed on Thursday 29 July that they would send a replacement unit. It arrived this morning. Less than two working days.
