I completely forgot to record Sean Tan's animation..'The Lost Thing'
on ABC1 today. I know I can watch it on iView, but would like a copy
myself.
Perchance, has anyone on the list recorded it and can make it
available to me?
TIA

Hi Kevin,
No offence intended, but we must show some consideration to the 500 users of
this list who sign up to see posts that help them understand and use Apple
products. Any post of yours about Apple products will always be most welcome.
Cheers,

Hi Kevin
You could grab a copy of iViewFox which will let you download the episode
you missed and allow you to keep a copy.
It installs as a plugin into Firefox and let you download the file to your
Mac. You can then burn it to DVD to keep.
Here is the link to software for your Mac
Hehe - back on topic now, Daniel ;o)
Kevin,
Just to add to Daniels's post, as downloaded the file is a strange mp4
file version - iTunes won't handle it, as is, but VLC plays it just fine.
If you want it Apple compatible for, say, iphone, Apple TV, or iTunes then
you need to run it through
Carlo,
Over the years I have been on the list I have seen many 'Off Topic'
posts. I thought mine to be no different.

Thanks neil,
BUT, I am a Mac nut and have been restoring and reformatting Macs and
donating them to worthwhile causes for a number of years now and
resent being pissed off over an 'Off Topic' post. At 71 years of age
I am past being a conformist and will try and get by without such

Having been removed from the assembled pupils for our whole-of-school

thought that conforming was vastly over-rated ;o)

Hi Kevin, your question has proved very useful for me, I didn't know about
the add on for Firefox that would allow me to download iview programs to
watch later.
Thanks Daniel.
Oops, Kevin, you don't get to be non conformist this time after all! Sorry.
Cheers, susan.

Hi Susan,
There was quite a long thread on subject: iView stopped working
About the iViewFox plug In for FireFox only a few days ago 2728 March.

Odd, I just didn't notice it then.
I've just downloaded Firefox and the add on, and it works for me.

I am just about on delivery date for iPhone. I have questions
1. Which company plan for small user is best- I know there are differences of
opinions but experience tells the best story.
2. Which apps do people recommend. Consensus will show again.

Hi Tom,
The iViewFox mentioned in this and a previous thread is an add-on (also called
a plug-in) to Firefox web browser. To install it you first need to install
Firefox 4.0
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
Then go to this site and install the iViewFox add-on
Hi Tom, with the iview add on, it gives you that option when you click to play
the program. Do you have the add on in stalled, and have you tried clicking on
play. cheers, Susan.

Just an after though. There seems to be enough interest in iViewFox that maybe
a Ronni style tutorial would help.

Thanks Carlo ;-(
But I don’t think this Add-On requires a Tutorial … How to use it is clearly
documented here:

I think further WAMUG discussion would help as both Firefox and iViewfox are
works in progress. The add-on does not work precisely as documented, which is
disconcerting. It just starts downloading automatically using Terminal, not
the iViewfox interface as shown and described. Therefore
Cose enough, Ronni. :-)
As usual I learned something -- namely about the little ABC icon in status bar.
Thanks,

Oh yes they are a beautiful, sleek, fast machine.
Hi Chris,
One more thing. OS X 10.7 Lion due out in June is dropping support for Rosetta.
So if you want to upgrade to Lion when it comes out, try to upgrade or replace
your PowerPC based apps.
Cheers,
