I have noted a couple of outlets in Perth (Dick Smit, JB Hi Fi et al) have been
discounting the iMac - a friend last weekend bought a 27 iMac. Is this a
precursor to an update or is it just cyclic discounting.
I am on the lookout for the next edition of the iMac and wondering when I'll

Hi Peter
Nothing has been announced with Lion fully. My personal guess will be that
we won't see it released until much later this year. I think it won't appear
until about August / September. Again, that's just my thoughts.
Others may feel different. But based on past experience that tends to

Hi Pedro
Yeh, they had the combined SATA and SSD's on the previous model. But only on
the 27. And it's the same with this range as well, though now on the 21
second model (you can't change as much on the entry level 21 it would see.)
I also see the 21 has one Thunderbolt port, whereas the 27 has

Hi Daniel
I would like to take up your offer to match MS Office price.
I am also looking to buy an ADSL2+ modem to replace a many years old Netcomm
modem/router. Be interested in what is available as I am looking to upgrade my
ISP subscription to ADSL2+.
I have a 21 iMac, a 500 GB Time
Hi Daniel,
There are persistent rumours that Lion will be announced at the World Wide
Developers' Conference (WWDC) on June 6 along with iOS 5. The speculation goes
that these two new operating systems have features that use Apple's soon to be
announced cloud service. Also amount the rumours

Hi Carlo
Yes, I agree that Lion will be announced at WWDC, but I don't think it will
be available to the general public until later this year. That's what I
meant.
Sorry, perhaps I didn't point that out well enough.
I know it's been the same every other time that they announce it at
WWDC,..then
Hi Daniel,
No, I understood what you were saying but I was just pointing out that the
rumours have Lion OS X 10.7 available for purchase late June early July. Only
time and the inscrutable Apple crystal ball will tell of course.

Carlo

We should have a small wager on that! :o) lol.
I just would be surprised to see it so early, as if it's out to a lot of
developers etc at WWDC I would think they wouldn't get a lot of time to play
with it, and adjust their software etc to work well with it before it's out
Yes you were missed at the meeting. Hope you recover soon. I would be prepared
to take that small wager by the way. :-)

Hi Pedro
I'd expect an announcement about the release of Lion and IOS at WWDC, along
with iWork '11. Apple's modus operandi would suggest that Lion won't be

posters aren't ready yet..

April/May just to make it more fun :oP
I agreed with you on the iPad 2,..so you can't count that one :oP
