In Adobe Reader x un-ticked all the boxes in internet preferences
And the Adobe PDF plugin was removed.
Oh joy! It works.

In Skype preferences there is a tab marked Audio /Video (has slider adjustment
icon/picture), is your usual Skype camera selected?, on my MacBook Pro I select
Built-in iSight.
If the correct camera is selected you should see yourself.
