Many Thanks, Ronni,
I will do that. I back up with time machine and often have cause to be
glad of it.

Hi folks,
Yesterday, after months of deliberation if I should or should not install Lion
on my iMac 2.16Ghz, I decided I would bite the bullet. I have been concerned
that it might slow my older iMac down too much.
So at 2:45 pm yesterday I began the download.
By the time I went to bed about 10
ICal has started to tell me that it can not log in to iCloud because the
password is incorrect. Though I set up an iCloud account I do not use it at
all. I see that iCal is checked though. This is a new phenomenon and I have
not changed anything. I have confirmed my Apple/iCloud log in
Hi Severin,
1. Make an iCal backup: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal
one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export Export and
saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
2. Go to iCal Quit iCal
3. Go to Apple System
Dear WAMUGers
FINALLY i think i have convinced mum and dad to get the Internet.
I have given then an old iMac we had laying around (running OS10.4)
Because I have always been with iiNet, I would like to sign them up to iiNet.
Was thinking of getting the Bob Light router
Mum and Dad don't have a
Nope, can use the same outlet to run the phone and modem. No need to get
another point. As long as the iMac has wireless (Which given a rough guess it
should do), then they can have it all in completely different places. 99% sure
off the top of my head BoB light has wireless built into it.
thanks Daniel
Yes iMac has wireless
Yes Bob Light has wireless

Hi Blitto,
You can use the same outlet for both analogue phone and ADSL -- and of course
you can use the same phone outlet for VOIP phone and ADSL seeing the VOIP phone
just uses the internet connection in any case. The second option is called
naked DSL where you do not have an analogue phone
Hi Rod
Most of them come with one in the box.
It will plug into the wall and then the phone and modem plug into it. So you
shouldn't need to get anything.
Oh, wait..except make sure they have the new phone socket (RJ45), you know the
little small plug that looks like a small Ethernet point. And
If you are going with iinet (like I have) they will give you the splitter thing
and may give you anything that you need because they want you to be connected.

Hi everyone
Someone has been using our wireless network.
Yesterday I had a message from iinet to say we were about to be 'shaped'. When
I looked at the usage there is an enormous amount of activity since Tuesday
10th July much of it when we have been out or glued to the TV watching Le Tour.
Diana,
If you have a simple password on your Wireless internet, then it is possible
that someone has drained your quota.
First off is to change your wireless password on your BoB to, I think it is
WPA2 - there has been recent discussions about this. Don't leave it simple, no
matter what the

The simple password is when accessing Bob2 via my browser, The WPA2 password is
not simple but it is only 8 characters long. I am going to change to a much
longer password.
We have automatic downloads turned off.
We used about 5500 MB in 4 days, our normal usage is about 350 MB/day. We
Hi Diana,
Change both passwords on the BoB2 change your Wireless Network password to
WPA2 and use a Passphrase 8-63 characters password (13 characters is good,
use a combination of letters numbers).
