G'day all WAMUGGERs.
I'm on holidays and so relaxed (sort of) that I missed my iCal reminder for
this month's WAMUG meeting.
Yes, once again that special Tuesday in November where the whole nation stops
and we have our monthly meeting is here again. Today, 6 November 2012.

Long time since we last spoke.
Ok, the Photo is sitting in the centre of the desktop, approximately the same
size as the original, not a file. I can click on the Photo but nothing happens,
if I move the mouse across the photo I get something like a cropping tool
action and it grey's

Thanks for the extra info.
I think all you've done is set it as the desktop pic (and centred).
Go to System Preferences - desktop screen savers.
Under Desktop just choose another picture and you should be right. :)
