Thanks Ronni, it would seem that in the absence of a 6S or 6S Plus (I have an inherited 5S)  there is no way to make a PDF of an email _on an iOS device_. I've looked at the features of 3 or 4 of the App Store PDF creators and not one of them explicitly states the ability to make a PDF

Good morning Barry, When you do decide to update to OS X 10.11.4 I recommend you download and install the Combo Update. I have always used the Combo updates to update OS X on all Macs I update and never had any problems. My OS X update procedure: BACKUP - a Bootable Backup - and Time Machine
