I have just tried Image Capture.
Looks like the way now to import individual images from iPhoto.
But Photos in Catalina still imports images from iPhone too.
The only issue is that the thumbnails are greyed out so they are difficult to
select.

Another Catalina conundrum ?
I open Photos on my iMac and then plug my iPhone into my iMac.
When I then click on “iPhone" in the sidebar, the photos on my iPhone are shown
as greyed out squares.
