Hi Rod, IEEE 1394 developed in the late 1980s early 1990s is FW400. IEEE 1394c has FireWire 800 connector. Check your FW cable that you use for i.LINK - DV-In/Out. I think you will find the end that connects to your Mac is Firewire 400 connector not FW800. My old Sony Camcorder, which I
