As beautiful as OS X is to use, there are quite a few things I miss...
Not the least was the ability of OS 9's Energy Saver to wake itself up
at a scheduled time - I would use the computer as an expensive alarm
clock and have it play me some mp3s when it was time to get out of

Cron would be how i'd do timed tasks in linux or Solaris.
Of course, cron relies on the CPU to actually be running. Which is
difficult when the power's been switched off :-)
