The question was posed last night at the WAMUG meeting about sorting Author
names in the list of ePub books in iTunes, according to the author's surname,
showing the surname first. There is a way to do this. In order to help the
following make sense, first view your books in List View

'text' to type 'number', they will automatically sort correctly. That
depends on where the numbers are imbedded, of course. Just a thought.

Hi
Can I
Assuming you're using Word, put the numbers in a table, and choose
Table-Sort. You can specify whether you want to sort the data as text
or as numbers.
Excel will automatically determine what type of data you have and sort
accordingly.

Peter,
you must have defined the field type as text rather than number. You
will have to redefine that field as a number field and then the sort
will be numeric instead of alphabetic.

Hi Ronni and WAmuggers
I decided to have another look around the options in Bridge - and VOILA, yes
I found the Filter - Orientation down on the left side of my window. Thank
You! I had been using the drop down menus along the top and there were no
words 'Filter' or 'Orientation' up there.

Hi all
Ever since I got my 5500/250, running 8.1, the display of hard disk
contents has been alphabetical, A few days ago, while transferring
half a dozen files into a higher level folder by shift clicking, I
held the button down too long and the folder opened up, as has
happened before. I
click the little arrow on the far right, it reverses the order of whatever
sort routine you have selected
