A happy new year to all!
I cannot create a Pages template with visible paragraph markers
(Invisibles). Any suggestions?
I created a Pages custom template from the original Blank provided in Pages
09 and Snow Leopard 10.6.2.A plain word processing document is wanted.

I am plagued with a huge list of unwanted fonts in Word/Office2008.
As far as I can see, they are in Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/
Office/Type Libraries but are inaccessible. Is there any way to
edit them, or just switch the whole lot off. I am loath to just Trash
the lot.

Hi Severin,
One of the problems which I was alerted to for running Office 2004 on SL was
that there would be font duplication issues with the old MS fonts and newer
SL fonts - the solution was to use Font Book to identify the duplicate fonts
and disable them.

I now have (for about 2 months) a Mac OS X Version 10.6.2, running on Snow
Leopard - (which I did not know until today - when I foolishly declared that
Snow Leopard had not caused me any problems).
I have not used the Mac a great deal lately, but have downloaded my Christmas
photos.

Thank you Ronni for your prompt reply.
I followed your steps carefully and unlocked the padlock. Unfortunately iPhoto
still does not open, and I receive the same message
Caution - the iPhoto Library is locked, on a locked disk or you do not have
permission to make changes to it.
No-one
Peta,
When you unlocked the padlock ... Do you have Read Write permissions?
If you do iPhoto is on your Mac, not an external drive.
Try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while
launching iPhoto.
Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
Choose to Rebuild iPhoto
Thanks James
I now have the template I wanted: your process worked for me too. And I've
learnt a little about file name extensions and where files are located.

Good morning Ronni
Just after I had sent you the email below my Mac died, I just had a spinning
wheel (it had asked me to do a software download). Not the coloured ball.
This continued all night and I have only just done the old fashioned turn it
off at the back - and then on again after a
Hooray - hullo again Ronni
I printed off your first set of advice ready to follow the steps listed in your
second set of advice.
Out of curiosity, I clicked on my iPhoto icon first to see if it would open.
This happened successfully, so your first piece of advice did work. Just

Hi Peta,
I would suggest you use the 'Snow Leopard Install Disc' or at least use 'Disk
Utility' and Repair Permissions on your iMac.
iPhoto should not have locked as it did, your iMac should not have required a
Force Shutdown as it did.
I don't recommend a Force Shutdown by pressing the Power
Good afternoon all, I hope you all had a pleasant Xmass New Year. I have
been off list for a while visiting friends and relies in the eastern states.
Can anyone out there please tell me if there is a way to mute/delete the
original sound from an iMovie 09 (version 8.0.5, Snow Leopard 10.6.2)

PS Ronni, would you recommend that I purchase the iWorks 09?
Hi Peta,
I have used all versions of iWork and find each version has improved (as also
iLife versions have).
I use iWork a lot for my projects, especially Pages. I use Pages'09
Thank you Ronni - I will get to this.

Again, many thanks. I will go ahead and buy this. I don't think (at this
stage anyway) that Relative Hyperlinks and Bookmarks will effect me much, so I
should be fine for how I am using my Mac. (Of course the law of averages being
what they are, one week after I buy iWorks 09 and
Thanks Ronni, it worked a treat.

I was just at the local Coles in Bicton (Saturday afternoon) and saw they had a
