Hi Ronnie,
Yes I have 10.7.1. I have followed your advice and reset the PRAM and
removed the desktop plist.
I will now give it a few days to see what happens. Fingers crossed.
Thanks again.

Have you tried sleeping the iMac and then waking it today, and is it not

Wouldn’t hurt to repair permissions again also.

Hi All
I want to record the times tables on to a CD to help my grandson with maths.
He will play back on a Macbook (not sure which one).
I have IMac 10.6.8 and also a good quality external microphone (Blue Yeti).
Is there an easy way to do this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Get a free sound recorder like Audacity.
Use it to record to your hearts content.
Audacity also has a very easy to use sound editor.
Put the edited tracks into iTunes and burn it like you would a normal musical
track.
Even the internal microphone would suffice.
Hi Marlene,
Can I suggest a variation to your plan. Instead of burning a CD, if you can get
your Times Tables recording into iTunes, then you can give your grandson a
digital copy to import into his copy of iTunes. He will then be able play it on
the Mac from iTunes or to sync it with any
Hi Marlene
QuickTime Player v10 on OS X 10.6.8 has a built in audio recording facility.
Go to FileNew audio recording and a simple audio recorder window opens up. It
creates MPEG-4 audio files which are stored by default in your Movies folder.
You can then drag the audio file into iTunes as
Hi Ronnie,
So far so good!

But seeing I did two things reset the PRAM and trashed the desktop plist,
I am not sure what caused the problem.

Hi Stephen,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I don’t have Lion installed on my
work machine, I Lion installed on an external FW drive.
I booted into Lion and tested the website.
I find the website is working exactly the same in Safari in Snow Leopard as it
does in Safari in Lion.

Hi Chris,
You use the ’Thunderbolt’ Port on your MBP. The thunderbolt port doubles as a
mini display port.
Thunderbolt port will let you connect any kind of high-resolution peripheral
hardware such as Plasma TV, HD monitors.
In your little box that came with your MBP it explains the Ports:
