Just an extract from Macintouch.com

The latest serious Adobe Flash security problem, reportedly being exploited in
the wild against Macs, prompted yet another patch/update from the company today:

Adobe Security Bulletin APSB13-04
Adobe has released security updates for Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.146 and
earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh [...]
Adobe is also aware of reports that CVE-2013-0634 is being exploited in the
wild in attacks delivered via malicious Flash (SWF) content hosted on websites
thattarget Flash Player in Firefox or Safari on the Macintosh platform, [...]
Users of Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.146 and earlier versions for Windows and
Macintosh should update to Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.149. [...]

Affected software versions
Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.146 and earlier versions for Windows and

To verify the version of Adobe Flash Player installed on your system, access
the About Flash Player page, or right-click on content running in Flash Player
and select About Adobe (or Macromedia) Flash Player from the menu. If you use
multiple browsers, perform the check for each browser you have installed on
your system.

SuperDuper Backup - Hidden Files?

2013-02-08 Thread Alan Smith
I planned to transfer selected data from my SuperDuper OSX bootable backup to
my new iMac. However I cannot locate the /Home/Library/ structure on the
SuperDuper backup disk. The missing data includes Mail settings and
content, Keychain data and 1Password data files.Assuming all the User
Library data is included in the SuperDuper backup, where is it and how can I
access it?

Old and new iMacs are both running Mountain Lion.

iPad migration

2013-02-08 Thread Peter Crisp
Hi, I bought my wife an iPad 3 a year ago there abouts, but as I'm now FIFO,
I've effectively hijacked it.

I have my iTunes library (250GB) on an external drive attached to my win7 work
laptop for convenience so I can sync stuff (podcasts etc) to my work iPhone 4.

How do I shift the iPad from its relationship to my wife's iTunes account in
her MacBook to become another of MY devices (along with my iPhone) and maybe
even retain the content currently on it, though this isn't critical.

Not sure if there is an elegant way other than a reset to factory settings and
start again.

Re: iPad migration

2013-02-08 Thread Daniel Kerr
Hi Peter

If you just plug it in, it will then offer to replace the media content with
yours. (as you can't sync with two different devices.)
Though to be honest the best way is to plug it in to your laptop and do a
Restore. That way it removes any and all content on it and then you can set
it up with yours.
The first way of just plugging it in and replacing the media content is that
you can get some hiccups with other apps and data.
(also, if you think your wife may get another one plug it into her computer
first. That way it will keep a backup of everything should she get a new one.
Then a new one can be restored back to what the old one was like.)

Hope that helps.

Kind regards
Daniel

As long as you have the service enabled in the iCloud settings for each

 desktop.

You contact the Carrier (Telstra or whoever) to get the IMEI blocked from the
