iPad migration
Hi, I bought my wife an iPad 3 a year ago there abouts, but as I'm now FIFO, I've effectively hijacked it. I have my iTunes library (250GB) on an external drive attached to my win7 work laptop for convenience so I can sync stuff (podcasts etc) to my work iPhone 4. How do I shift the iPad from its relationship to my wife's iTunes account in her MacBook to become another of MY devices (along with my iPhone) and maybe even retain the content currently on it, though this isn't critical. Not sure if there is an elegant way other than a reset to factory settings and start again. Re: iPad migration
Hi Peter If you just plug it in, it will then offer to replace the media content with yours. (as you can't sync with two different devices.) Though to be honest the best way is to plug it in to your laptop and do a Restore. That way it removes any and all content on it and then you can set it up with yours. The first way of just plugging it in and replacing the media content is that you can get some hiccups with other apps and data. (also, if you think your wife may get another one plug it into her computer first. That way it will keep a backup of everything should she get a new one. Then a new one can be restored back to what the old one was like.) Hope that helps.
