2016-06-13 Thread Severin Crisp
The Albany Summer School, of which I am secretary, is now communicating with
large numbers (several hundred at a time) of our students by email.
Significant numbers are being interpreted by the receivers as Junk/SPAM.
It is not clear whether this due to our ISP (Westnet) or further down the
track.
Can anyone please advise on how we may avoid this? Should the group emails be
sent to a single committee address and “bcc” to the large group?
Thank you

Re: Contacts after upgrade to elcapitan

2016-06-13 Thread Ronda Brown
Yes Contacts/Address Book data needed to be upgraded / migrated after El
Capitan installation.
Sounds like some of the upgrade El Capitan 'Post-installation tasks' were not
performed correctly.

Unbelievable that people still do not do all the 'Preparation' & BACKUP -
'bootable backups' as well as Time Machine before upgrading the operating
system.
Then Perform all the Post-installation Tasks!

They then wonder why problems arise?

Fwd: Contacts after upgrade to elcapitan

2016-06-13 Thread gary dorn
I've just noted there is a log file - which says "

2016-04-04 preparing merger with 508 users, 48 groups
Download from https://(name)@p46-contacts.icloud.com/(a long
number)/carddavehome/card/
Summary ( says local people 508 , local group 48 etc..,
UPLOAD to
https://(name)@p46-contacts.icloud.com/(a long number)/carddavehome/card/
MIGRATION COMPLETED"

So I opened up iCloud via browser and their in contacts is 1018 contacts
consisting of 8 copies of each contact!

Hmm

So I went contacts>accounts>which opened up iCloud settings , ticked contacts-
synced to contacts app.

Oh well - problem resolved!

Hi Gary,

Need to know what happens when the Administrator User opens the Contacts.app?
Does it crash or just not show any contacts?
