For those who use older versions of AI and ID, Adobe suggests strongly that you 
hold back about installing High Sierra just now. These older versions have a 
few problems with it, and Adobe says they will update them.

You don’t have Live Photo turned on do you?
When the camera is in “Live photo” mode, there will be NO shutter sound except 
in normal Photo mode.
