Deleting in Mail

2019-01-28 Thread Brian Risbey
Hi Everyone

I discovered that Mail is hogging 140gb of my SSD.

So, I decided to a major select and delete.

it wasn’t successful, perhaps these selected emails (maybe 14) going back
to 2005… are now in 'transfer limbo’ now I can’t move them to the trash, as I
get the error message:

“1162275.emlx” couldn’t be copied to “Messages” because an item with the same
name already exists. and yes I can only see one email in Mail Trash, and when I
delete that email it reappears back the folder I just deleted it from.

Yes, Mail Trash is empty, have emptied Mail Trash various ways, but no
improvement.

Tried restarting machine, resetting PRAM… deleting the Mail prefences list.

'What Size’ app. indicated the V3 file in the Library for Mail was the large
file and there is evidence of Rebuilds, which are also large and old.

Bit frustrated,

What is the next step?

Brian

Re: Internet

Hello again Severin,

Just had another thought. Apple keeps its iOS (and OSX) versions under tight
control. You are only given the option of the highest available iOS version
compatible with the device you have, so you'll only get 9.3.5 if you have a
pretty old iPad mini.

If you can't see the update on your iPad mini, you can update manually using
iTunes.
If you can’t update wirelessly on your iOS device, you can update manually
using iTunes on a computer that you trust.

Update your device using iTunes

Cheers,

Ronni

Re: Internet

2019-01-28 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Severin,

Robin we have already ascertained that Severin’s iPad mini is NOT a iPad mini 2
by it’s model number
MD545X/A
Severin if you click on the model number MD545X/A it should change and show
Model number.
Settings > General > About - Model

You have down a ‘hard restart’ of your iPad mini?
Hold down the Home button (the one on the front of the iPhone or iPad) as well
as the power button. Keep both buttons held until the Apple logo appears. Let
go of the buttons and wait while your device complete its start sequence.

Is the iPad connecting by Wi-Fi or Cellular?

Check Settings > General > Data & Time and verify that ‘Set Automatically is
on’. If not toggle it on.
If it is on, toggle it off, wait a few seconds and toggle it on.

Are the websites you have trouble with ones you need to login?

Do you have any restrictions set?
Settings > General > Restrictions … Turn off all restrictions by entering your
restrictions passcode.

Cheers,
Ronni

 Hello Severin,

I guess you tried a complete shutdown and restart of your iPad2 mini.

 Try: Reset Network Settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will not erase any apps or media but will erase Wi-Fi passwords.

 Kind regards,
 Ronni
