Apple Event - 30th October - new items

2018-10-30 Thread Daniel Kerr
Incase anyone missed it,…here’s a quick run down of what was announced from
today’s Apple event. (which actually started at a reasonable time, didn’t have
to wait until 1am to start watching it!)…..

New MacBook Air
Now with Retina Display, still 13”
Has the new “butterfly keyboard”, larger multi-touch trackpad, 2x
Thunderbolt3/USB-C ports and headphone socket. Now comes in Space Grey, Silver
and Gold.
Also has the T2 Security Chip with Touch ID.
Pricing starts at $1849
(and you can even take it from a 512GB SSD to a huge 1.5TB SSD! Only a mere
+$1500 extra!). :)
More info here - https://www.apple.com/au/macbook-air/
https://www.macrumors.com/2018/10/30/apple-new-macbook-air/

New Mac mini. Now in Space Grey!
Now with 4 or 6 core processors and up to 64GB RAM. All SSD storage. Also has
the T2 security chip, 4x Thunderbolt3/USB-C ports, HDMI, 2xUSB-A ports and
Gigabit Ethernet (with an option to swap it to 10GB Ethernet).
Pricing starts at $1249
More info here - https://www.apple.com/au/mac-mini/
https://www.macrumors.com/2018/10/30/apple-announces-new-mac-mini/

New iPad Pro. Now in 11” and 12.9” slim bezel and FaceID. Edge to edge “Liquid
Retina”, no home button - FaceID and magnetic support for the new Apple Pencil
2 ($199). (the Apple pencil 2 “clicks” to the display and also wirelessly
charges it at the same time!
Now has USB-C to charge and run it. You can even “off charge” your iPhone
directly from your iPad with a USB-C to lightning cable! Plus it will run a
display directly from the iPad! And gives it a lot more options for
connectivity.
Slimmer, thinner and lighter! And faster of course! With better graphics and
more…..
Pricing starts at $1229 for the 11” model and starting from $1529 for the 12.9”
model.
Available in Silver or Space Grey. (seems they dropped the Gold colours).

That was pretty much it. A few other things mentioned (Today at Apple workshops
etc,….). And then 2 songs,…and it was finished. :)

If you want to see the Keynote you can watch here -

I think that was pretty much everything,….
Enjoy!!

Kind regards
Daniel
