Re: Combo update?
I suggest you always check the App Store (should be in your Dock). And then click on Updates. > On 30 Mar 2018, at 10:16 pm, Pat <clamsh...@iinet.net.au> wrote: > > Just received an email from ‘Maintain’, email address: i...@maintain.se > <mailto:i...@maintain.se>, recommending a combo update to High Sierra > 10.13.4, and providing a link. > > With all the clever scams these days, I did not want to click this. Re: Combo update?
Hi Pat. It is always good to be cautious. I just checked the App Store and there is a 10.13.4 update. Also updates for Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Thank you for the heads up ! Combo update?
Just received an email from ‘Maintain’, email address: i...@maintain.se <mailto:i...@maintain.se>, recommending a combo update to High Sierra 10.13.4, and providing a link. With all the clever scams these days, I did not want to click this. I looked on the Apple website and could not find any reference to a combo update. Also looked at the App Store — no mention of a 10.13.4 update. Is there such a link on Apple’s site? 10.5.8 Link to Combo Update
Hi All I am following the advice of the one and only Ronda Brown, in installing the Combo update and attach the link for the rest who follow the legendary guru like me. File Size: 759MB http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update Re: OS update 10.5.7 Ronda Brown Tue, 12 May 2009 17:46:11 -0700 On 13/05/2009, at 7:14 AM, Susan Hastings wrote: Hi, the forums indicate some are having problems with this update. Has anyone tried installing it yet. Susan. Hi Susan, I haven't had any problems since installing OS X 10.5.7. I did install the Combo, I didn't install using Software Update. I always install the Combo versions of OS updates. The Mac OS X Update Combo is 729MB size. It installed without any hiccups and I have not experienced any problems so far. It took approx. 14 mins to install and does two restarts (so don't panic when it seems to hang a bit after the first restart). Re: 10.5.8 Link to Combo Update
Hey Andrew, My family and friends say Thank goodness there is ONLY ONE of me! Seriously though, if you are following my advice don't forget to Repair Permission after you have installed OS X 10.5.8 update (whether Combo or through Software Update). The install took about 15mins on my 17 MacBook Pro. The Repair Permissions took 22 mins. A very lot of Permissions Differ, so best to do the Repair Permissions (you should always after an update to the Operating System). OS combo update
I have a G3 PowerBook. A friend has a Mac Mini (Bought June 2005). We both run OS 10.4. My friend has a slow internet connection. Can I download the latest OS 10.4.7 combo update to my PowerBook, save it to a thumb-drive, and load it onto her Mac Mini? Thanks, Michael Hawkins.

If you download the Combo updates from Apple's Support page, yes you can... these combo updates have everything in them to support any version of Mac OS 10.4.x (ie you can go from 10.4.1 (or .2, .3, or even .0, etc all the way to the current version. In your case you fine with the PPC vs Intel versions as you both have PPC machines... but if your friend had an Intel machine and you had a PPC, you could download the Intel Combo update for them and copy on to a thumbdrive and deliver it to them... You just couldn't run it on your machine. NOTE: DO NOT try using updates downloaded via Software Update on other machines. -- Nicholas Pyers ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Heaven on Earth? No, Earth on Earth. Very slow to load Gb of data on a Thumb drive ! You don't say what model ... does it have Firewire ? You could connect Powerbook to Mini via firewire in Target Disk Mode which would give you a fast copy of the dmgfile . Go to Help in the finder ... select Mac Help , type in Target Disk Mode and search . You should find a file giving you a description on how to set it up . Bob
10.4.7 combo update
Hi WAMUGers, I used the Combo OSX10.4.7 to update three computers here. On two I noticed after installing the Combo update that Safari Preferences General that'Open safe files after downloading' had reverted back to the default setting of this being ticked. It was unchecked on all machines prior to doing the update. Cheers, Ronni Car'n The Pies
Re: 10.4.7 combo update
Ronni, I checked my settings and it has remained unticked. One thing I have noticed since 10.4.7 was installed is an outbound network request from a process called dashboardadvisory, to an address eg-www.apple.com (this is reported by Little Snitch). This looked pretty strange, however eg-www.apple.com has the same IP address as Apple, so it appears to be a new part of the Dashboard framework. Don't know if anyone else has encountered this, I can't see any references to it (bar 1 very obscure chinese language site). Regards, Glenn.
