I've looked and I've looked but can't find how to delete applications
from my iPhone in iTunes.
I'm sure it is staring me in the face or I'm blind.

Hi Stuart,
It's a two step process. First delete the application from iTunes and then the
next time you sync your iPhone you will be prompted with something like Do you
wish to copy an app that does not exist in iTunes from you iPhone (some such
message with different wording). Just select No

that re-open and try redownloading and refuse to go away

after deleting
at the bottom of the section/screen it indicates ''downloads available''
and the 3 X 300mb tv shows that* I dont want* keep coming back like
montezumas revenge
always trying to reload and there seems to be in my version of itunes

let them finish downloading, then when they are complete, try again to delete
them.
Select them in iTunes and press Delete or Edit Delete.
They will continue to attempt to download until you let them complete.
Then, you can delete them.
Your other option is to contact the iTunes

In Itunes Preferences Store, you don’t have “Automatically download
pre-orders when available” selected do you?

No but I did have ''Always check for available downloads'' on - I have
unchecked it
but I still have a request to have the 48 hour turnaround removal at itunes
base though
