Re: Icons on Desktop

2019-07-23 Thread Stephen Chape
Hi Pat.

Right click on desktop to show menu.
Hover mouse over [Sort By]
I reckon you will find that [Snap to Grid] is ticked.
Try clicking on that to untick it.

Now you should be able to move Icons to where ever you wish.
However it may take some effort to get them in line if they don’t Snap to Grid.
Because they will not line up automatically.

Icons on Desktop

2019-07-23 Thread Pat
I like to arrange small groups of related icons along the sides and corners of
the Desktop — I used to be able to put them there and they would stay there.
But suddenly, they started lining themselves in wide ranks and I was not able
to shift them so they would stay put.

Is there a remedy for this? I have tried all the options that were offered.
Anything I move just zooms back to where it was.

Cheers,
Pat

Sounds like it's not a completely accurate clone. There's something
missing or corrupt in the deeper regions of the OS. If it were me, I
wouldn't hesitate. A Clean Install with Archive will cost the least
in time and grief.
