Hi 'Muggers Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
For at least the last two hours Time Machine has been backing up "0 of 10 bytes". The TM icon on top menu bar is moving anticlockwise and the TM external Firewire drive LED is flashing denoting activity (and drive seems to be spinning). I selected "Stop Backing Up" from the TM icon menu and it showed (greyed out) menu item "Stopping Backup..." now for 20 minutes. I have the coloured beachball on desktop but I can use other applications from Dock OK. Any suggestions before I just shut down everything?
