On Ronni's suggestion I have install Cloak on my iPhone.
I then went to the phone to find out what happens when I turn VPN on when I
need it.
this is what I get.
Settings General Network VPN, not connected.
VPN 'Off' When turn ON get L2TP PPTP IPSec.

this is want I want and also good advice about not tampering with VPN until I
know more about it. that is why I did nothing until I got some advice.
