apakah setiap hal harus disediakan harinya?

peace is in what we do, and no petition is good enough to subsititute
any real action towards peace ... though i admire the notion but it
would be a shame if such trivilities as Int'l Day of Peace would side
track the real action to bring about true int'l peace.

and if you ask me, if i'm against such idea, i say no. i simply point
out that there are better and more valuable things, realistic things
to do than this.

i'm all for a peace movement, but no international day would bring
true peace where people in dire need of peace really need it. perhaps
person like Dawud Walid would be a good example of real action by
going to Darfur and contribute to a peace effort. i know not all can
emulate Walid's action but his is a real one.

what we can do in our own neighbourhood perhaps simply to not engage
in any violence, be it in a form of words, let alone physical one,
might be a simple contribution to make and preserve peace. even
better, if we can prevent others from doing so. as simple as that ...

so, not being actively participating in the int'l day of peace won't
be a shameful thing. as long as we know that we have been doing
something for peace though it might look trivial to others.

congratulation pak KM for the effort! i second you ...

salam,
satriyo
