When I last tried, then using XPath with Watir on IE was like 100
times slower than using any other methods of locating elements
(regexp, name, id and so on). Even if you iterate over some elements
to find some specific element, it's faster than XPath.

But my IE6 tests run slower than with Watir1.5. I use XPATH for
verifyng almost all objects in page. It can decelerate running but
Watir 1.5 was faster for me.
