when I tried to run weston compositor with unset DISPLAY variable, it pop-up
complete black window with cursor and I lost the handle to it.

There is no weston running, checked using ssh (remote login).

This is trying to use the DRM backend, not the nested-X11 backend. If you want
to run the X11 backend, you need to build support for it. My guess is that the
configure checks failed because the required dependencies were not present.

yes it is immediately on weston start-up
as soon as I start weston it crash with error.

Are you able to get a backtrace please? You can get this from the core which
was dumped. How did you trigger this crash? Was it immediately on startup?

Also note that 1.9.0 is quite old - we have just released 3.0, which is five
releases after 1.9. Perhaps you could try a newer version as well.
