I think the character of Leon was just one more subtle way that the TAGS
writers were making the point that Mayberry was indeed a very friendly and safe
community in which to live. I think it is as simple as that. Well, that's my
theory for what it is worth.

I have had the most extreme privilege of having Allan and Jan Newsome as my
