I been givin' lotsa thanks this year. I was a'wonderin' whar I was a'gonna git me a turkey fer Thanksgiving, but then thar ain't nobody but me so I ain't really needin' no big bird like that!! So's anyway, I went a'walkin down in my woods and found a whole pen of chickens!! Well, I jes' got one, 'ats all, well, a few aigs too... and fixed it up with some sweetaters and white 'taters, throwed some carrots in the pot, fried up a coupl'a hoe cakes and had a glass o' buttermilk with all of it, and man alive, that was a feast to give thanks fer!! Whut, is thar somebody who don't know what a hoe cake is? I unnerstand on them newfangled discomputerators you can do something called Gaggle or Goggle, maybe Google....and you can find out what it be if you look there!! And whoever hid them chickens down in my woods I thank ye kindly!! It shore did make fer some fine eatin' and gave me good reason to realize....My every need has been provided by the Man, and whenever I am in need or whenever I need to give thanks, I just "call the Man" and have a talk with Him. An' sometimes I jes' talk to Him just because!! Makes a soul feel mighty good! Hope all a'yall had just as fine'a Thanksgiving as I did, and I hope you all remembered to say Thank You to the Man for all yer blessins.'
