Well, I been studyin' about that question from Ron, and the way it seems to
me, is that Old Ben gave Lester a job at his store so he could pay Ben what
he owed. So the money they collected to help Lester pay the mortgage wasn't
needed anymore, and Andy decided to donate it to the school library,
Always wondered. At the end of this episode, after they made that money to
help the Scobey's, Andy tells Barney to take it over to the library. If
they made it to help the Scobey's, why wouldn't they just give it to Lester
for his mortgage?
