I want to take time today, Monday, March 28th, to wish a very Happy Birthday to
Bluegrass Hall of Famer, a member of the original Dillards and our very own
beloved Darling Son, Dean Webb. Dean thanks so much for all the enjoyment you
have given us over the years.
On Saturday, March 12th, members of the “Still Ugly, Single and Pitting Prunes
“ chapter of Casey, IL. traveled to Columbia, IL. to see Dean Webb and The
Missouri Boatride. As always they put on a fantastic show, treating us to some
of the Dillard’s songs mixed with some of their own songs and
Happy Birthdays to two of our Mayberry family, Mayberry Days favorite, Ronnie
Schell and Arlene Golanka

Members of the “Still Ugly, Single and Pitting Prunes” chapter of Casey, IL.
traveled to Kimberling City, MO. last weekend to see Darlin’ boy Dean Webb and
the Missouri Boatride scrub several songs off for us. They are great musicians,
playing Bluegrass the way it should be played, even played
Just a note to let everyone know that the Casey, IL. chapter, Still Ugly,
Single and Pitting Prunes, met on Halloween night and celebrated by going out
for supper. Then we all gathered and watched “The Haunted House” episode, “The
Ghost and Mr. Chicken” and finished the evening with “ The

Recently had an enjoyable Halloween. The “Still Ugly, Single and Pitting
Prunes” chapter gathered together and watched the newly released “ The Return
of the Killer Shrews”! What a fun movie. It stars James Best(Jim Lindsay
and Roscoe P. Coltrane), John Schneider, Rick Hurst( both from the

night in a new movie,”The Sweeter Side of Life”. It was a feel good movie and
great to see Mr. Best still going strong at 86!

My wife, grandaughter and I had the pleasure of seeing Dean Webb and his band
Missouri Boatride Saturday evening in Kimberling City, MO..They put on a
fantastic show every other Saturday night in the mall parking lot. I think they
have three more Saturday nights planned for this summer. Check
