Mayberry or Mt. Airy is 143.12 miles from Reliegh, NC Mt. Airy "Andy's home town" is in the northern part of the state of NC. Go Hwy 52 north through Fancy Gap and you are in Cana, Va. Almost a stones throw away. I know cause I asked Hernest T. Bass. Mt. Pilot is the town that moved around a bit. Several actual towns in NC were mentioned on the show. Bannertown, just south of Mt. Airy. Siler City. Mt Pilot, actually Pilot Mtn Raleigh Greensboro Wilmington Can any of you trained noticers detect any more ?
