I agree that AC changed our social lives immensely, as well as TV.
Television brings folks into our homes so we perhaps do not feel the need to
socialize outside as much. As a widow whose constant companion was my
beloved, I never developed friendships so TV is a wlecome visitor in my
home; I even sleep with it on since he went to Heaven. I don't know what I'd
do without it!
