In Don Knotts' final episode as a cast regular, 'Opie Flunks Aritmetic' (April 19,1965), Barney shows his preferred way to throw a football (in the middle) compared to Opie's reference of "Johnny Unitas of the Baltimore Colts" holding the ball at its end. Don Knotts later co-starred in Disney's 'Gus' (1976) with included a cameo of Johnny Unitas playing himself. "Rifle Fife" met the "Golden Arm."
